About the Study

This is a research study conducted at the University of Minnesota that aims to develop a new intervention that may help young people with depression. This new intervention combines two techniques designed to enhance healthy brain functioning:

Mindful Breathing involves focusing all of one’s attention on the experience of breathing for a period of time.

Transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS) is a noninvasive brain stimulation procedure in which electrodes are placed on the scalp and a small amount of energy is delivered for the purpose of stimulating the brain. This procedure is done while the person is awake.

We are no longer recruiting participants for this study.
